Traveler disagrees on how early you should arrive at the airport

A plane passenger shocked even the most organized travelers by admitting he arrived at the airport six hours before his flight was due to depart.

Self-described anxious traveler Tim Murray criticized those who were lax about their airport arrival time, boldly stating that it was their own fault for missing their flight.

“It’s not my fault you’re late for your flight, so if you’re behind me in the security line saying, ‘I need to pass you, I’m late,’ you need to manage your time better,” he said. A short clip was published on TikTok.

“I arrive at the airport six and a half hours before my flight,” he said, admitting that his “extreme anxiety” played a role in getting there early.

“And I want to sit here and chill at Chili’s airport with a waitress named Debra who has the greatest smoking voice you’ve ever heard and has stories that will last six and a half hours,” he joked.

In a comment, Tim admitted that he might have overestimated the six hours, but said he still arrived at the airport a few hours early.

While Tim appeared smug, boasting about his early arrival, many users pointed out that there were external factors affecting people’s travel plans.

“People need to remember that it’s not always the person’s fault. If my flight is delayed, this could cause me to miss my connection no matter how early I am. This happened to me a few times,” one person noted.

“Have mercy on us international travelers who had to grab immigration baggage and run to a connecting flight after our first flight was delayed,” complained another.

“Man, some people are connecting because their flight was delayed or they were stuck in long customs lines… there are many reasons other than being late,” they noted.
