The dark side of Home Alone star Devin Ratray: How the Buzz McCallister actor pleaded guilty to two counts of domestic violence after ‘choking his girlfriend’ after falling out of favor.

But in recent years, some of the most popular productions have been saddened by the tragic circumstances of the cast.

One of those stars includes Home Alone actor Devin Ratray; He was known for his role as Buzz McCallister, now 47, Kevin’s eldest brother who often got him into trouble.

When she was just 13 years old, she starred in the festival blockbuster and was an important part of the film.

She became a regular on MTV’s reality series Damage Control and has appeared in several films and TV shows, including Dennis the Menace, Little Monsters, the 2007 film Serial, the sci-fi film Surrogates, and the thriller Elevator, Nebraska (opposite Bruce Dern). and Will Forte), 2013’s Blue Ruin, the crime drama Hustlers, and Steven Soderbergh’s Kimi.

He is also interested in music and sings and plays guitar in the band Little Bill and the Beckleys.

In 2021, she reunited with some of her Home Alone cast members in Disney+’s Home Sweet Home Alone. Instead of playing Buzz, Ratray returns as a police officer.

But in February 2024, Devin Ratray pleaded guilty to two counts of domestic violence.

As a result, the 47-year-old actor avoided prison time and solved his years-long case in Oklahoma.

It comes after the star was hospitalized last month and left in a critical condition. He has since been discharged and reportedly ‘returned home on doctor’s orders.’

In December 2021, he was arrested on domestic violence charges after he allegedly strangled his girlfriend in an Oklahoma hotel room.

He was reportedly angry at his partner for not charging two female fans for autographs while they were drinking at a bar.

After returning to their hotel room at the Hyatt Place Oklahoma City, Ratray allegedly pushed her onto the bed and then put one hand around her throat and the other over her mouth.

‘The victim was having difficulty breathing when she was strangled and the defendant’s hand covered her mouth,’ according to the affidavit.

It was also alleged that Ratray told her, ‘This is how you die’ as he continued to strangle her. The girlfriend then bit Ratray’s hand as she tried to scream for help.

He stopped choking her but then allegedly started punching her violently. He managed to escape Ratray’s grasp and ran out of the room.

Ratray allegedly punched her on the table when she returned to the room to collect her belongings.

The victim was found to have multiple injuries, including a bruise under his left eye, marks under his right eye, marks above the left side of his lip, a bruise on his chest and pain in his arm, according to KFOR.

After a violent fight, the two separated. A police source at the time revealed that Ratray ‘turned himself in and was processed and disconnected,’ according to Fox News.

He was released from custody after posting $25,000 bail and denied the allegations.

Last year, there were reports that he was also being investigated by New York authorities due to allegations that he raped a woman in New York in 2017.

After hearing about the assault case, Lisa Smith contacted prosecutors about a police report she filed in 2017 accusing the actor of raping her.

he said CNN He said he wanted to know why the case was not pursued and that he thought the authorities wanted his name to remain anonymous and did not want to press charges.

Smith claims to have been friends with the actor for about 15 years before the alleged attack, adding that he met his brother and another friend of Ratray for a drink in New York just before the attack.

The group then went to Ratary’s apartment for another drink, where he insisted that Smith get a special glass.

He says he got tired soon after drinking and Ratray encouraged him to stay and sleep on the couch.

Smith believes the star drugged him and says: ‘I remember waking up and not being able to move.

‘I couldn’t really open my eyes but I could hear what was happening and I could feel what was happening. ‘I knew the other two people had left and I was still on the couch.’

He claims the attack continued for what seemed like ‘an eternity’ and that he was only able to regain control of his body around 2pm the next day and flee the flat.

The day after the attack, Smith told a friend, her sister and one of her brothers what happened, and then confronted Ratray in a text message.

He denied the assault, so Smith filed a police report a few weeks later and met with an NYPD detective in Salt Lake City — who mistakenly stated that he didn’t want to press charges.

Smith added that he was ‘devastated’ that police did not investigate his claims when he came forward.

At the time of the incident, he had traveled from out of state for an interview at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and had given them the clothes he had worn the night of the attack.

He added: ‘If I hadn’t been willing to press charges, why would I have met with the prosecutor years ago?… This was all very distressing for me.’

‘Seeing him accused of assaulting another person made me realize I had to do everything I could to stop him from harming more women.’

Smith alleges that he met with a prosecutor from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Sex Crimes Unit in May and that the prosecutor apologized for the way the case was handled.

When contacted by CNN, Ratray said she remembered the night she spent with Smith but denied the allegations that Smith raped her.

According to an Aug. 25, 2022 report by dailymail.com, a spokesperson from the district attorney’s office confirmed they were “in contact” with Smith but declined to talk about the handling of the case.
