Car returns to Las Vegas Dollar Tree full of people

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Surveillance video shows a group of people entering a Las Vegas business about a minute before an SUV crashed into the front of the store.

This incident happened around 12:00 a.m. Tuesday at a Dollar Tree near Tropicana and Pecos.

Metro police said they responded to the accident with no injuries. It is unclear how many people were injured or whether the driver or someone in the store was injured.

A mother who was inside the store with her daughter and decided not to appear on camera said that people in the store hid in the back when they heard a loud crash.

The woman, who said she and her daughter were fine, described the incident as “traumatic.”

Surveillance footage from a nearby business shows people flocking to the store before a white SUV drives past the store, then quickly exiting once inside.

The SUV then parks about a hundred meters away. It’s unclear what caused the driver to return to the store, but Metro police say the incident was accidental and no arrests have been made.

“The entire front of the store is completely gone, wood planks are covering the entire front, it’s pretty crazy,” says Lucino’s Pizza Owner Joey Scolaro. “I’ve seen this before in the city but I don’t think I’ve seen it this serious, it’s pretty crazy.”

The front of the store is covered with plywood. Inside, Christmas decorations and other items are scattered on the floor.

It’s unclear when the store will reopen, and Dollar Tree did not respond to FOX5’s request for comment.

FOX5 also requested the full incident report from Metro police.
