Between 2019 and 2021, Mondaine helped 11 people file at least 39 tax returns with false information, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. These fraudulent returns resulted in a tax loss of approximately $237,329.

Mondaine profited from the fraud by charging customers a fixed dollar amount or a percentage of their refunds.

Part of Mondaine’s plea agreement requires him to pay restitution to the IRS and is permanently barred from participating in others’ tax returns. He also faces up to three years in prison without parole.

Mondaine’s sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled.
