Officers later conducted a traffic stop and said that when they did the registration, the vehicle returned as belonging to a different vehicle.

Inside the vehicle were Albert Tichenor, 36, of Fairmont, and Ashley Nuzum, as well as two children. According to the complaint, Dispatch informed troopers that Tichenor’s operator permit was suspended/revoked due to two previous DUI charges.

Tichenor was therefore taken into custody, and a search of him resulted in soldiers finding “a black box containing drug foils and syringes.” A K9 unit was then deployed to conduct a free air sweep of the area where the vehicle was located, the complaint said.

When the K9 gave a positive indication of the presence of narcotics, a search of the vehicle was conducted, which resulted in troopers finding a green container containing drug paraphernalia under the passenger seat and a foil containing a substance that tested positive for fentanyl in the field. to the complaint.

Police said they also found drug paraphernalia in the backseat of the vehicle occupied by the two teenagers.

Tichenor and Nuzum are charged with child neglect and are being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
