Interesting Details Revealed About Joe Flacco's Indianapolis Colts Contract

Per spotracFlacco signed a one-year, $4.5 million deal with Indianapolis in the summer of 2024. However, according to Pelissero’s details, Flacco’s contract includes various in-game and season-long incentives. One of the areas that stands out in the contract is the ‘performance level’ section: “If the Player achieves Strike Time at one of the levels listed below in the 2024 Regular Season AND the Club qualifies for the Playoffs in the 2024 League Year, THEN the Club will pay the Player only the amounts listed below.”

In short, Flacco needs to do his best for Indianapolis. If they make the playoffs and he doesn’t get benched, injured, etc., Flacco could earn up to $1,000,000 in incentives through that portion of the contract alone. Additionally, as Pelissero noted in his post, Flacco added a $100,000 incentive for each win he earned by playing more than 50% of snaps during the 2024 regular season.

Flacco has witnessed many prime time games throughout his 17-year career and will use that experience to help Indianapolis win a tough game on the road. However, the Vikings have a defense that is notorious for constantly attacking opposing backfields and creating chaos; so Flacco will have his work cut out for him running Shane Steichen’s game plan in prime time.
