HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Two people were killed in a violent crash in northeast Houston Saturday night, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

Gonzalez said deputies responded to a crash in which a vehicle was on fire in the 13200 block of Wallisville.

Authorities stated that 4 vehicles were involved in the accident.

According to Gonzalez, preliminary information suggests that a driver may have strayed into traffic, while the driver of the vehicle that crashed was taken to the hospital.

Authorities recovered two human bodies from the scene and both were pronounced dead.

Traffic is being directed to Maxey Road west of the scene and Normandy Road east of the scene, according to HCSO.
