Identity theft: A Saratoga resident reported that someone tried to get a $27,000 loan using his personal information, but it was not approved by the bank and there was no financial loss.

Harassing/harassing electronic communications: A Saratoga student reported receiving numerous sexually explicit text messages from unknown suspects.

Check fraud: A Saratoga resident reported that someone received the check, the victim mailed it to the U.S. Post Office on Allendale Boulevard, then altered the check and cashed it, totaling approximately $15,732 in losses.

Identity theft: A Saratoga resident reported that someone opened an account with an online payment company using his personal information and accrued a total debt of approximately $115.

24 October

DUI: At 8:46 a.m., deputies stopped a driver at Quito Road and Montpere Road for a traffic violation. The investigation revealed that the driver was driving drunk. The suspect was arrested and sent to the main prison.

Theft: At 5:55 p.m., the suspect entered the Safeway at the Argonaut Center on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road and stole merchandise valued at approximately $480. Deputies then located the suspect and attempted to contact him. The suspect learned of this and went to a Safeway in Santa Cruz to pay for the stolen goods.

Residential burglary: At 8:19 p.m., someone broke into a residence in the 20000 block of Beauchamps Lane by breaking a sliding glass door and stole jewelry valued at approximately $22,500.

27 October

Stolen vehicle recovered: At 11:01 p.m., deputies located a vehicle previously stolen from San Jose at Clemson Avenue and Swarthmore Drive.
