What ‘shocked’ Clyde Frazier about the Knicks’ ugly preseason incident with Donte DiVincenzo?

Walt “Clyde” Frazier was surprised and fascinated when he saw former Knick Donte DiVincenzo and assistant coach Rick Brunson arguing after a preseason game.

The Knicks legend told The Post that DiVincenzo has every right to be upset about being traded, but it’s not the time or place to tell everyone that.

“I was shocked,” Frazier, who is commentating the game for the MSG television network, told The Post last week. “We weren’t focused on that, and I didn’t find out until after the game. But I’m sure DiVo was upset about being traded; I can’t blame him. It’s demoralizing to leave New York.”

DiVincenzo and Jalen have been close friends since they played together at Villanova, and as Frazier noted, this ugly scene was bad for everyone involved.

“But you can’t let emotions get the best of you,” Frazier said. “Especially when your best friend (DiVincenzo) is at (Jalen’s) wedding. You know, that’s his father.”

Jalen acted as peacekeeper in the incident, attempting to pull DiVincenzo away multiple times before tensions escalated further and Timberwolves players separated the two.

Jalen then moved on to his podcast He expressed his sadness about the incident.

“I just wanted to touch on families fighting. Things have been said. The issue should have been handled better on both sides, but here we are,” Brunson said on the “Roommates Show” podcast. “Everyone thinks the world is collapsing. Everyone thinks. … That’s what’s happening right now. But I think this needs to be handled much better.”
