Chatting to someone called Matt, she revealed her black dress was ‘exemplary’ and said: “I think it’s appropriate business attire.”

However, she continued her meeting with the HR employee by wearing a blazer-style dress to avoid getting “angry”.

In a recording of the apparent conversation, a voice says: “I must admit, I was a little disappointed in how you were dressed today.”

Noting that Matt said ‘there were no problems’, the HR worker does not believe the man is ‘in a position to say what he did’.

“We need to address this issue as we have received comments from other staff members,” they add.

But while there is constant debate about who is responsible if they cannot deal with a woman wearing a dress, the defendant states: “I don’t think it’s my fault if I’m distracting other staff, it’s not my fault, it’s a bit up to them.”

But the HR woman says people say she’s “begging for attention” and ask if she’d “do anything different,” leading the user to say she’s “going shopping this weekend.”

Comments shared on a viral video page were divided, with some saying HR was ‘absolutely correct’.

“I wanna be a girl’s girl but baby I have exactly this dress and I wear it to the bars,” one wrote.

Others said it was ‘too short’ and that although it was ‘super cute’ it was ‘not for work’.

“You should wear tights and a long cardigan,” someone suggested.

But another user admitted she was ‘a bit disappointed by the comments’, and another agreed: “Others need to mind their own business.

“It speaks volumes when someone else’s clothes affect your work performance.”
