Upper West Side father missing since Wednesday – NBC New York

A family in New York makes a desperate plea to their neighbors to keep an eye out for a missing father.

Alberto Saldana, 69, has been missing from his Upper West Side home for more than two days and has Alzheimer’s disease.

A security camera captured the moment he left his apartment at 70th Street and West End Boulevard around 4 p.m. Wednesday. He was last seen wearing an olive green T-shirt and blue pajama pants.

Her family asks the public: If you see Saldana, approach her and address her by name, then escort her to the nearest police station.

Her family says Saldana has disappeared before, but Wednesday was the first time she left home without her cell phone.

Saldana’s son David said, “She doesn’t like asking for help. She’ll probably just sit quietly somewhere and say yes if help is offered.”

Every day the 69-year-old man is missing is another day he cannot take the daily medications he needs to treat Alzheimer’s. His family says his memory got worse the longer he went without medication.

Relatives have called nearby hospitals, shelters and parks, and Saldana even went to the Bronx by Yankees Stadium because she loves the team.

“My fear is that he’s been wandering the streets for two nights with no sweater, no money, no food,” his stepson, Jimmy Montero, said Friday. he said.
