2 killed, 3 injured in crash on US-27 in Palm Beach County

Two people were killed and three others were injured in a crash on US-27 in Palm Beach County Sunday morning, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO).

Police said a driver in a Ford minivan was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of US-27 near mile marker 85, just east of the Collier County line.

A driver in a Chevrolet Suburban was traveling southbound on US-27 when the front ends of the two vehicles collided violently with each other around 2:35 a.m.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene around 03:00 at night.

The driver of the Chevrolet was identified as 24-year-old Damion Jones of the South Bay. The driver of the Ford was not identified.

The three injured passengers were in St. He was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center. Two of them are in serious condition and one is in critical condition.

Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash, according to PBSO.
