Montour man charged in Marshalltown gas station robbery | News, Sports, Jobs

A Montour man has been charged with first-degree felony robbery after allegedly pointing a gun and demanding money at a convenience store in Marshalltown Thursday evening.

According to a press release, at approximately 8:37 p.m., Marshalltown Police Department (MPD) officers responded to 111 S. 3rd Ave. for a robbery. Sent to Jiffy Mart at. The victim said the suspect pointed the firearm, demanded money, and then left the area on foot.

Police teams arrived at the area in a short time and located a suspect matching the description given by the victim and witness. The suspect, who escaped from the police on foot, was caught a short time later and the gun allegedly used in the incident was seized.

John David Henderson, 42, of Montour, was charged with first-degree robbery (Class B felony), being armed with intent (Class D felony), interference with official acts (a simple misdemeanor) and public intoxication, also a simple misdemeanor.

Henderson was transported to the Marshall County Jail after being medically cleared by UnityPoint Marshalltown.
