Three people arrested for harassing female researcher-Telangana Today

Hyderabad: Nacharam police Three people were arrested for allegedly harassing a female researcher at her home two days ago and forcing her to end her life.

P Deepti (28) works at a research institute TarnakaHe died by suicide at his home on Wednesday night. Before ending her life, Deepthi made a video in which she accused her father Sangeet Rao and others (Anita, Anil and Somaiah) of creating circumstances that forced her to end her life.

Following the incident, the police registered a case of abetment to suicide and arrested Sangeet Rao, Anita and Somaiah in the case.

According to police, a few months ago Sangeeth Rao received Rs. 15 lakhs from Anita, promises to get a job in a research institute. Unable to arrange the work, Anita started demanding the money back and filed a complaint against Sangeet Rao and Deepti at Nacharam police station.

Ever since the case was registered, Sangeeth Rao was absconding and the police were keeping an eye on him. Meanwhile, Anita went to Sangeeth Rao’s house along with her relatives and created trouble by demanding that the family pay her Rs. 35 lakhs for withdrawal of the case.

“Due to frequent harassment, Deeptil allegedly committed suicide at her home,” Nacharam Inspector G Rudvir Kumar said.
