Officers praised for response to High Wycombe crossbow incident

Around 6 p.m. on May 10, King got into an argument with a neighbor, a man in his 60s, and stabbed him in the stomach.

When unarmed officers arrived, King fired at them with a crossbow from his window. He then left his house before shooting PC Foster in the leg.

When armed police arrived on the scene, they shot King in the stomach. He was hospitalized and released 10 days later and was later charged.

At Aylesbury Crown Court on September 20, King also pleaded guilty to affray, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a bladed article. He will be sentenced in January.

A member of the public was also injured at the scene and a mandatory referral was made to the IOPC.
