M’sian singer Firdhaus denies cheating on his ex-girlfriend, singer Diorlying Tan, Latest Music News

Malaysian singer Firdhaus announced that he never cheated on his ex-girlfriend, Malaysian singer Diorlying Tan. This was after rumors about his personal life surfaced on the Internet.

The singer-songwriter of Malay descent speaks Mandarin fluently and is known for singing Mandarin songs. On November 18, she wrote a long post on social media saying that she was currently single while she was in the process of getting to know someone.

Firdhaus and Tan, both 25, announced their separation in October after four years. The former lovebirds had a hit song in Ghana with the duet Divorce in 2023 and went public with their romance that year.

Although the separation initially seemed amicable, rumors of infidelity later surfaced.

Tan, who has a public Instagram account, allegedly posted on a separate private account on November 17 and said: “I never said Firdhaus was cheating, he just found someone else very quickly.” He also allegedly said that Firdhaus was using his money to spread lies about him.

Firdhaus addressed the situation on Instagram on November 18, saying online speculation was “out of control.”

“I wasn’t unfaithful, but I don’t deny that I’ve gotten to know other people in the two months since our breakup,” he wrote.

Firdhaus, who played gigs in Melbourne and Sydney in October, added: “I recognized this girl from a shoot a few years ago. Although we worked together a few times, we didn’t become close until last month when we needed to reconnect for some filming of my concerts in Australia. “I have really positive feelings towards him and even visited him in Australia on my days off, but we are not together.”

He urged people to act more rationally and said that they should not slander the girl or call her a third person.

He also insisted that he had not lied about Tan after their breakup. He said that while they were dating, they shared most of their expenses equally. Additionally, Tan spent her own money to produce her music and shoot her music videos without his help.

Netizens don’t seem to believe Firdhaus’s side of the story, and comments mocking his statements are being used as an excuse. A Malaysian content creator known as DaBangji left a comment titled “Dodging responsibility in the Malay Peninsula”, a play on Divorce in Ghana.

Scandal damaged Firdhaus. She lost nearly 30,000 followers in four days since November 16, dropping to 593,000 followers on Instagram.

The singer first went viral on Chinese social media site Douyin in 2020 with her ballad Gulf Of Alaska. He will be performing two solo concerts at Singapore Sands Expo and Convention Center on January 3 and 4. His last concerts at the Esplanade Theater in June were sold out immediately after tickets went on sale.
