Aqara’s Smart Valve Controller T1 works in smarter homes with Matter

The Aqara hub allows this T1 to integrate with any of the major smart home platforms, unlike pricier options from companies like Moen, Kohler, and Belkin. Currently, only Samsung and Home Assistant support smart valve controllers like this, but that will change as others expand Matter device support.

T1 installs on the handle or butterfly handle of most household valves. Aqara says it’s “DIY-friendly because it doesn’t require any major modifications to existing plumbing” and is compatible with half-inch, three-quarter inch and one-inch pipes.

Aqara said the T1 will run on four AA batteries for up to two years. For automation, the company also has a cheap leak sensorIf you wish, after adding support, you can use a different platform that works with your preferred smart home platform.
