A man frantically attacked his cousin after inviting her to an outdoor gathering. Sina Hosseinpour, 25, stabbed her cousin Assad Hosseinpour multiple times through the window of his taxi, seconds after he pulled over to the side of the road.

The shocking incident, captured on CCTV, took place on August 30 this year. Sina Hosseinpour used her mobile phone to send her location to her cousin, encouraging him to head towards Salisbury Road. WavertreeWhere Sina was waiting for him with a large kitchen knife in her hand. When Sinai arrived, he immediately attacked him.

Video footage shown at Liverpool Crown Court today, November 15, showed Sina Hosseinpour lunging at Assad with a knife in his hand, making stabbing movements through the driver’s seat window. As Assad tried to push his cousin, the taxi rolled forward and hit another car.

Prosecutor Henry Riding said: “During the attack he delivers at least eight clear blows with his right arm and at one point he may even shift to the left. At this early stage of the attack the knife is clearly visible. He then proceeds to deliver a further 10 or 12 blows to the window of the vehicle, but at this point the knife is clearly visible.” “It’s impossible to say whether he still has it.”

Approximately 30 seconds after the attack, another man approached Sina Hosseinpour from behind and “began to struggle and restrain the defendant, who was still in the driver’s side of the victim’s vehicle and assaulting the victim.” CCTV showed the man pushing Sina away from the vehicle while Assad staggered out, clutching his injured arm.

Sina then broke free from the other man and attempted to kick his victim but appeared to hit the side of the taxi instead. He then attacked his cousin once again and dealt him two blows with his right and left hand.

Assad Hosseinpour had puncture wounds on both arms and a deep, wide tear on his left forearm that required surgery. The court heard the man did not want to make a statement against his cousin after the attack and did not co-operate with the investigation.

Sina Hosseinpour, of no fixed address, was initially charged with attempted murder, but this was later dropped. The suspect pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article.

Peter White, defending, said: “The defendant is in no position to explain why he acted in the way he did. He does not appear to have a history of hostility and this is a man who has no previous experience of the offender. “Whatever the justice system is concerned about, everyone affected by his actions, especially his cousin “He can apologize. All he can really say is that he’s sorry.”

Judge Anil Murray said: “There was significant planning: sending your location to attract the victim to the scene and having a knife ready for the attack. There is an argument to say that this was a sustained and persistent attack, but even if it wasn’t, it was an assault.” Absolutely determined.

“You say you do not remember the incident and therefore cannot offer any explanation. I have been told that there is no history of animosity between the two parties. You are of good character and express your remorse by apologizing, which I do. Acceptance is genuine.” He sentenced Sina Hosseinpour to four years and six months in prison and issued a 10-year restraining order banning him from contacting his cousin.
