World’s most famous guru implores UK to stick to organic soil

The world’s most famous guru has warned of the dangers of ignoring soil in climate talks as he called on the UK Government to commit to 3 per cent of its soil being organic.

sadhguruHis real name is Jagadish Vasudev, he is known as one of the world’s leading gurus who strives to help people find inner peace.

She started teaching yoga classes in the early 80s, but has come to prominence in recent years as a prominent environmentalist and now has 13 million followers on Instagram.

To talk I Sadhguru from COP29 in Azerbaijan said: “Before, it was oil, oil, oil. Now the narrative is changing.”

He called for greater inclusion of land in the narrative around climate change; this is something he believes is missing from the conversation. He advocates for the issue as part of the Save the Land movement.

The motivations Sadhguru gives in his mission are not entirely separate from his vocation as a peace guru.

“There is significant evidence that mental health conditions are linked to micronutrients in foods,” he said I.

“Micronutrients in food feed back into the quality of the soil. The human mind is the greatest miracle on the planet, but it is increasingly becoming a source of trouble.

“Human physical and mental health is directly affected by the soil.”

New research published by Save Soil COP29 It found that emitting 1 percent of Europe’s soil carbon would be equivalent to the annual emissions of 1 billion cars.

Sadhguru told I It wants individual governments to commit to making 3 percent of their land organic. This means soil created through the natural decomposition of plant and animal materials rather than being pumped with pesticides.

COP29 has already given the green light to carbon credit quality standards, an important step towards the launch of a UN-backed global carbon market. This will fund projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and Sadhguru believes this will be reflected in its focus on soil, calling it “an important step for small farmers”.

Sadhguru points out that in addition to carbon credits, UN agencies also use the term “soil destruction” as a profit.

According to the famous guru, the land movement has come a long way in the last few years. He said: “Land was not mentioned once at COP26 in Glasgow. People seemed surprised when we wanted to talk about it.

“The following year, we gained observer status in Egypt. “Now we have a whole team here campaigning.”

“This is a movement now, but we need to see government policies,” Sadhguru added. “I wish all the major world leaders would come to the COP.”

Among those who did not attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference are US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

But with Baku more than a week away, Sadhguru is hopeful that more can be achieved. “When the best leaders are here, it’s just a photo opportunity. All the real work happens between teams. “Now that their team is here, more work can be done,” he said.

Along with tackling the climate crisis, Sadhguru believes that improving soil quality could be “the most effective way to control migration.”

he said I: “It is very important to keep the lands where people live rich. Why would people move their families away from their homeland when they have good land where they can farm and make a living?”

“Living in this world will be very cruel by 2045 if we don’t do anything about it,” Sadhguru added.
