Semi-final chances remain – Alcaraz celebrates first victory at ATP Finals

Alcaraz has been struggling with breathing problems in Turin for the last few days, which is one of the reasons why the four-time Grand Slam tournament winner played with a pink nose cast against Rublev. The 2024 French Open and Wimbledon champion started the victory by bringing the score to 4:3 in the first set and put the set in her bag in the 37th minute thanks to another break. In the second set, both players retained their serve and therefore a tiebreak was held. The Spaniard took a 4:1 lead here but had to fend off two set points at 5:6 and 7:8 to convert his second match point.
