A 16-year-old boy has been charged with alleged assault and robbery in Brisbane, Australia

SYDNEY (Bernama-Xinhua): A 16-year-old boy has been charged with alleged assault and robbery in South Brisbane, police in Australia’s Queensland state said on Saturday.

Investigations show that just before 1am local time on Saturday, a 23-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy who were walking near the South Bank pools were approached by a group of people they did not know.

The man and the boy were allegedly physically assaulted by the group and many items were allegedly stolen. The group then left the area.

The seriously injured 23-year-old man was hospitalized, while the 15-year-old boy was also hospitalized for treatment.

Police said that after investigations, officers found and detained a 16-year-old boy at around 2:40 a.m. local time.

He was charged with two counts each of assault causing bodily harm, robbery in company and one count of affray. – Bernama-Xinhua
