Bank robbery suspect captured at Moorhead hotel

A reported bank robber in Moorhead was captured by police Friday, just 30 minutes after he reportedly stole an unknown amount of money.

Moorhead police said at 8:20 a.m. a bank in the 800 block of 37 Avenue South was reported armed robbery.

The bank said a man entered the bank, claimed to have a gun and demanded money.

Witnesses to the incident were able to describe the man to police and pointed officers in the direction he left following the reported robbery.

Within 30 minutes of the reported robbery, 44-year-old Eric Flynn was spotted at a nearby hotel in the 3600 block of 8 Street South and taken into custody, police said.

It was reported that the bank’s money was found on Flynn and hotel room attendants searched him after obtaining a search warrant.

Unspecified evidence, as well as the clothes he reportedly wore during the robbery, were also found by police nearby.

Flynn faces charges of First Degree Felony Robbery; He is currently with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
