Iran must not allow Israel to involve it in a full-scale war – advisor – World

DUBAI, 8 November. /TASS/. Iran must respond cautiously to Israel’s actions to prevent the Jewish state from plunging the country into an all-out war, one of the advisers to the Islamic Republic’s religious leader Ali Larijani said.

“Israel killed many people in Gaza, but it could not achieve any of its goals. <...> In Lebanon they (Israelis) killed many people. So did they manage to change the course of the war? Now they want to draw Iran into this conflict. As our leadership says, we should not fall into their trap. <...> An emotional reaction would be a mistake; Larijani stated that the reaction should be strategic. IRIB TV. The Iranian politician emphasized that the decision to respond to the October 26 Israeli attack belongs to the Supreme National Security Council and said that it is not appropriate for everyone to express their opinion on this issue.

The advisor stated that Israel’s primary goal in the Gaza conflict is to forcibly move the entire Palestinian population from the region to neighboring countries. However, when the Arab states realized this plan, they did not allow “this conspiracy to be turned into reality”.

On October 1, Iran launched a massive missile attack against Israel in retaliation for the killings of key officials from Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Israel promised to respond to this attack.

On October 26, the Israel Defense Forces reported targeting military facilities in Iran in response to “numerous ongoing attacks”. The Air Defense Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran stated that although the damage was limited, military facilities in Ilam, Tehran and Khuzestan provinces were hit, and their air defenses successfully prevented most of the incoming attacks. At least four Iranian soldiers and one civilian were killed in Israeli attacks.

On November 2, Esmaeil Kousari, a member of the National Security Committee of the Iranian Parliament, announced that Iran’s Supreme National Security Council had decided on a military response that would be significantly stronger than any previous attack on Israel. This response will include forces from the Axis of Resistance, including Hezbollah, Hamas and its allies in Gaza, radical Shiite groups from the Iraqi Islamic Resistance, and Ansar Allah, the Houthi rebel movement in Yemen.
