What is the story

uttar pradesh The State Women’s Commission recommended that men not be allowed to sew clothes or cut hair for women.

The proposal, put forward at the meeting held on October 28, aimed to protect women from inappropriate touching and possible malevolent intentions.

The proposal was initiated by commission chairperson Babita Chauhan and supported by existing members.

Offer details and future plans

Among other things, the proposal proposes that women’s measurements be taken only by female tailors and that CCTV cameras be installed in tailoring areas.

It is also recommended that only female barbers deal with female customers in hairdressers.

Himani Agarwal, a member of the women’s organisation, said men in these professions may engage in inappropriate behaviour.

He explained: “Some men’s intentions are not good either,” but not all men’s intentions are bad.

Women’s commission will seek legal support for proposal

For now this is just a suggestion.

The women’s commission plans to ask the state government to consider bringing legislation based on these recommendations.

“We think women are being harassed because men are engaged in such professions. They (men) are trying to succumb to bad touching,” Agarwal said. he said.

What are the other basic requirements?

According to a report prepared by TOIA probation officer in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district has directed local bodies to implement initial guidelines even though the commission’s deliberations are still in their early stages.

Other important requirements of the proposal include the employment of female instructors or instructors in gyms, drama and yoga centers for women, and the installation of DVR-enabled CCTV systems.

Additionally, stores selling women’s clothing are expected to employ female staff to assist customers.
