Hong Kong prison chief vows to ‘never be afraid’ after violent attack on officer

“The Correctional Services Department (CSD) strongly condemns the unlawful violence and we believe that the attackers blatantly defied the rule of law and undermined social order,” he said.

“Every employee of the Department of Correctional Services is a professional law enforcement officer and will never be afraid of violent threats.

“CSD will maintain its position and act in accordance with the law to ensure that the institution maintains good order and discipline.

However, Wong refused to say whether the officer was attacked due to a personal feud with the attackers, saying the incident was still under investigation and it was not appropriate to provide further details.
