Authorities announced that 1 person died and 4 people went missing after the boat capsized in Bodega Bay.

BODEGA BAY, Calif. (KGO) — One person has died after a boat capsized off Bodega Bay, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. The other four people are still missing.

Authorities said the sheriff’s office received a call just after 10 p.m. Saturday after a recreational boat failed to return to shore.

There were a total of six people on the 21-meter Bayliner boat, three adults and three teenagers. The coast guard said one of the teens was found around 8 a.m. Sunday. They were wearing life jackets and are in stable condition.

The boat was last seen around 3pm and was supposed to return from the crab at 7pm.

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said cell phone signal showed the boat was last in the Carmet Beach area.

Multiple agencies assisted in the search, including the U.S. Air Force.

Anyone with information about the missing boaters is asked to call the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office at 707-565-2121.
