Young rapper killed in North Melbourne

At the height of his rap career, which dramatically changed his circumstances, Pal Bidong’s young life was cut short when he was fatally shot near a Halloween party in North Melbourne on Saturday morning.

Police are still searching for the gunman after Bidong was found dead in Langford Street at 3.15am on Saturday morning. No arrests or charges have been made in the death.

Detective acting inspector Alan Rumble said customers were returning home from nearby warehouse-style venues when the body was discovered. “Emotions were high,” he said, with a Nine News vision showing fights breaking out in the streets near where the body was found.

Police did not say how many times Bidong was shot, when the attack occurred or a possible motive.

Bidong’s manager Iltáf Alessandro said: Age The 20-year-old musician was one of a kind, encouraging the younger generation to “chase their dreams and crush their goals” with his music.

Bidong, known as Peezy in the Australian drill-rap scene, features on new single Spin Da BlockHe was released less than nine hours before his death.

“He cared about others more than himself,” Alessandro said. “He had such a good heart; I couldn’t tell you anything bad about this man.

“He started taking it seriously about six or seven months ago; Every day he was working with his family or booking a (gig) or performing. She was literally fully booked… This was about to start changing her life.
