The Police Department issued an order to conduct a disciplinary investigation against officials ranging from assistant inspectors to police officers who have not been on duty without permission since August 5.

The directive was issued through an office order signed by AIG Jamirul Islam, police personnel management-3, today (November 3).

According to the decision, the relevant departments have been instructed to take collective action against the police personnel and inform AIG Jamirul Islam about the process.

Following the ouster of the Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government on August 5, a significant number of police personnel were absent from duty.

According to the statement made by the Police Department, a total of 187 police personnel are missing so far.

Of these, 166 range from sub-inspector to police officer.
