hyderabad: First year student Kotla Avinash (16) died by suicide at his home in Medchal on Saturday night.

The victim, who was pursuing an intermediate course in a private college in Kompally, stayed in the college hostel. He came home for Diwali festival.

“It was reported that the child was not interested in studying at the university and was not willing to go to a hostel. He ended his life by hanging himself from the ceiling fan of the house on Saturday night,” Medchal police said.

A case was registered.
