Rodgers tells Celtic players ‘we’ll decide’ how match against Aberdeen continues

Rodgers told Celtic TV: “I told the players before the game there are two things that are real before the game, aren’t they?

“It’s going to be a great atmosphere. Both teams are doing great, the best teams in the country are playing at the moment, so it’s going to be a really good atmosphere.

“The second fact was that it would start at 5.30 in the dark. We decide everything else from now on.

“We decide how we play, how we train, how we run, the quality of our game and what the players do.

“So yes, we are preparing as if it is your first time here and of course we have an obligation to fight for trophies and now we are giving ourselves a chance here in the middle of December.”

But RB Leipzig is waiting for Rodgers Champions League and then it’s back to league duty with Kilmarnock at Celtic Park.

If Rodgers can safely manage to make it two wins from those two games, he will not only maintain Celtic’s domestic unbeaten record but also take the Hoops a step closer to exiting the league stage of UEFA’s top competition.

And for that to happen, one of Rodgers’ famous speeches will need to hit the mark as the Bundesliga side will prove to be a formidable opponent at Celtic Park.
