12 Players Are Opting Free Agency

As the offseason approaches, some players are hitting minor league free agency every week. These players are separate from the six-year-old MLB free agents who will hit the open market five days after the conclusion of the World Series. Eligible minor league players can begin hitting free agency as soon as the regular season ends. All of these players were removed from a team’s 40-man roster during the year, and since they are not re-added to teams’ rosters, they have the required service time and/or multiple career picks required to reach free agency.

Free agency is the expected outcome for these players. There will certainly be more to test the market in the coming weeks. We will provide periodic updates on MLBTR. All of these transactions are reflected. MiLB.com or MLB.com logs unless otherwise stated.
