New Orleans Pelicans star listed on injury report against Atlanta Hawks

New Orleans Pelicans star listed on injury report against Atlanta Hawks

The New Orleans Pelicans looked like they would have an incredibly deep team filled with multiple stars when they entered the 2024-25 NBA season. Unfortunately, the team will be missing most of these stars as they face the Atlanta Hawks tonight.

On Sunday night, the New Orleans Pelicans look to snap their second winning streak of the season. The last two seasons, the Pelicans and Hawks have split their regular season series against each other. But in this case, the Pelicans will have to do it without CJ McCollum.

The New Orleans Pelicans have officially listed CJ McCollum with a right adductor injury suffered against the Atlanta Hawks. He is expected to be away from the fields for a total of 2-3 weeks in the Pelicans.

McCollum averaged 18.8 points, 4.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 steals on 45/38/67 shooting in the four games he played this season. McCollum’s numbers are slightly lower than last season, likely due to his declining three-point shooting and free throw shooting, which will naturally increase over time.

As a member of the Pelicans, McCollum is averaging 21.0 points, 5.3 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.0 steals on 45/41/76 shooting from the field. While CJ McCollum has never been named an All-Star, his offense is certainly comparable to an All-Star.

New Orleans Pelicans will face the Atlanta Hawks tonight at 19:00 (EST).
