Guardiola admits guilt after Manchester City defeat

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola admits Bournemouth’s intensity was too much for him.

City were surprised 2-1 at Dean Court on Saturday. This is the Sky Blues’ first defeat this season. A misstep for which Guardiola takes full responsibility. The Catalan coach said the following after the meeting: “We knew we couldn’t match the intensity of Bournemouth. We talked about this. It was an open match. “We had chances in the end but I congratulate Bournemouth on their victory.”

Guardiola applauds Bournemouth

Guardiola praised the Cherries’ style of play: “50-50 balls, duels, such matches are played. They are very aggressive. They had six or seven days to prepare. They have physicality and speed, but you have to win those situations. And they had their chance. Ederson made a good save. We had some great moments at the beginning of the second half and it was hard to accept it afterwards because we were good. “After the goal, we gained momentum and found positions, but we could not score.”

“That’s it. We have a small number of players with a lot of minutes and a lot of players without, which makes the balance a bit uneasy. “We played well against Spurs but today we couldn’t handle their intensity and that’s why we lost the game.”The Sky Blues manager concluded.
