A Buckeye firefighter was shocked by an electrical wire while extinguishing a fire that started in a restroom and spread to a house Wednesday evening.

Buckeye Fire Medical Rescue confirmed the firefighter was in stable condition and was taken to the Valley Wise County Burn Center for treatment.

Buckeye Fire Department and Arizona Fire and Health Authority units worked together to fight the blaze.

Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control, but while assessing the structure, the firefighter came into contact with a live wire and was shocked.

Three members of the family were evicted from the home. Buckeye Fire said the Red Cross helped provide them with a new place to stay.

The cause and cause of the fire are being investigated.
