Suspect was injured when police opened fire at a Conyers gas station, police said

Detectives are investigating an officer-involved shooting at a Conyers gas station Wednesday morning.

The shooting occurred shortly before 7 a.m. at the Chevron gas station on Sigman Road in Conyers, not far from Highway 138.

While details about the shooting remain limited, authorities confirmed with FOX 5 that an officer shot the suspect during the incident at the gas station.

Authorities did not release that person’s name or condition other than to say they were not killed in the shooting.

FOX 5 cameras captured multiple police vehicles blocking the gas station and detectives investigating a black truck that crashed into a nearby convenience store. The rear window of the truck exploded.

The investigation is ongoing and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is expected to be called to the scene.
