3-year-old boy shot in stomach at home on Detroit’s west side

Detroit – A 3-year-old boy was shot in the stomach early Wednesday morning at his home on Detroit’s west side.

The incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. on October 30 on West Grand Street in the Livernois and Davison area.

The boy was shot inside his home, according to Deputy Chief Charles Fitzgerald. He said the stories told by the mother and father were contradictory and inconsistent.

The mother told police she went to the laundromat and heard an explosion as she unloaded the car. He then went to check on the child.

However, no one in the area heard the gunshot.

Inside the house was a 15-year-old who was left in charge, a 2-month-old, a 2-year-old, and a 3-year-old who were shot.

Both parents were taken into custody and CPS was called.

Police said the boy was shot once in the abdomen. The child is currently in hospital in critical condition.
