Students not allowed out as police investigate shooting 'incident' in Jay

JAY, Maine (WMTW) – Police in Jay are investigating what they’re calling a “firearm-related incident” Tuesday morning.

Although the incident did not occur on school grounds or involve schools or students, schools were asked not to let children out until a suspect was apprehended.

Late Tuesday morning, police told our media partner WMTW they believed the suspect had been captured and had lifted all restrictions on local schools.
