Marcus Spears Shocks ‘NFL Live’ Crew by Showing Off His Incredible Arm

Jayden Daniels Hail Mary It was a hot topic after yesterday’s discussion. Washington Commanders’ thrilling last-second victory over Chicago Bears Sunday afternoon. NFL Live The crew discussed the game ahead of the Giants-Steelers game on Monday, when Marcus Spears and Ryan Clark were in Pittsburgh for ESPN.

Spears, at a safe distance from Dan Orlovsky and on the field, joked that his colleague, the retired quarterback, couldn’t throw the ball as far as Daniels had on the game-winning play the day before.

This caused Orlovsky to give a funny look, and then he admitted that the reason he’s on TV right now is because he can’t get as far as Daniels. While everyone was laughing, Laura Rutledge tried to refocus the conversation by saying that “not many people could throw it that far.” Spears was heard saying, “I can do it.” Orlovsky immediately responded: “No, you can’t.”

Minutes later the scouting team investigated Orlovsky’s longest career pass through the air (54) and Spears was forced to clear the ball the same distance.

Moving on to Acrisure Stadium; Here Spears, who had lost his jacket but was still in his shirt and tie, was standing in the end zone with a football and another ESPN employee standing at the opposite 46-yard line. Spears threw the ball, and his colleague took a half-step to his left and caught the ball in mid-air.

This is a great live television moment. Rutledge and Mina Kimes’ legitimate shock and delight as Orlovsky wanders off NFL Live The 41-year-old retiree set out knowing that the defensive end embraced him in his professional work.

What Orlovsky wasn’t supposed to know was that Spears was a freak athlete-turned-All-State football player in high school, where he played defensive and offensive tight end. He was also a basketball player who was named the Gatorade Basketball Player of the Year in Louisiana.

Here, at a high school football game, he strides down the field and hits a teammate 50 yards away on a trick play.

Marcus Spears is that man. Never forget this again.
