Douglas man jailed for indecent assault on teenage girl

A man found guilty of indecently assaulting a teenage girl in the Isle of Man has been sentenced to four years in prison.

Thomas Murphy has pleaded not guilty to four counts of indecent assault, which occurred between March and April 2023.

Sentencing him at Douglas Courthouse, Deemster Graeme Cook told the 24-year-old: “You have shown no remorse by pleading not guilty.”

Murphy, of Alder Road in Pulrose, Douglas, was also placed on the sex offenders register for life and given a sexual offenses prevention order to be in place for 10 years.
