Police intervened in serious robbery | Western Colorado

The suspect in the aggravated robbery of a Dairy Queen on Northern Avenue is wanted by the Grand Junction Police Department.

On Saturday around 9:25 p.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to the Dairy Queen at 709 Northern Avenue for a report of a possible robbery.

According to police, a male broke into the freezer, stole items and confronted an employee with a knife. While no one was injured, the suspect then left the scene in a red Jeep Cherokee.

Late Saturday night, at approximately 11:20 p.m., officers stopped a red Jeep Cherokee matching the description of the robbery vehicle in the area of ​​North Avenue and 10th Street. Police arrested the male passenger on an unrelated warrant. According to police, the suspect remains in custody.

The initial investigation determined that this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public at this time.
