Swiss woman in S’pore says she feels ‘cheated’ by non-Swiss food at Swiss restaurant Marche

The small Swiss flags around the restaurant are to blame for this.

A Singapore-based Swiss creator said he felt “cheated” by all the non-Swiss food served at Swiss restaurant Marché.

Swizzyinsg, whose real name is Marion Müller, posted a 29-second video on October 17 with the disclaimer: “I’m not saying the food doesn’t taste good, it’s just not what you’d consider Swiss food!”

“They said it was a Swiss restaurant, but it’s not all Swiss food,” he said in the video.

The expat showed off the Spanish paella and French crepes sold at the restaurant.

“The next thing I saw was seafood pasta, it actually looked pretty good but in a Swiss restaurant?” he asked.

“The garlic pepper prawns on the pizza are definitely not Swiss either.”

But all is not lost.

“Then I was so happy to find Swiss rösti, which they make from scratch,” Ms. Müller said. “But you never eat it with sour cream.

“The only things that were really unique were the Mövenpick ice cream and these wooden chairs. That’s exactly what you’d find in Switzerland.”

One commented: “Swiss food is terrible, can’t blame them for serving other food.”

“I accept,” said Ms Müller, who has been living in Singapore since November 2022.

One commenter asked: “What about Ikea?”

Ms Müller said Ikea was from Sweden.
