Tragic Betrayal Case in Jajpur

A 57-year-old man has been arrested in Jajpur district for allegedly raping an underage girl, police confirmed on Sunday.

The man, whom the victim knew, tricked him under the guise of showing him a mongoose before committing the crime. The incident came to light on the night of October 23 when the girl’s mother filed a complaint.

After detaining the family members of the accused, the police followed him to a friend’s house in Kendrapara area. The victim is undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College in Cuttack and the accused has undergone medical examination.
