Liverpool traffic cops to get cameras to catch abuse

Traffic wardens in Liverpool will be given body-worn cameras to protect against violence they face on the job, a council has said.

Civil Enforcement Officers (CEOs) who issue tickets to motorists are often subjected to verbal and physical abuse, Liverpool City Council has said.

To combat the problem, the council agreed to purchase 75 body-worn devices, with £150,000 spent on the first tranche of devices.

The official said the public can also submit allegations of harassment and threats by CEOs, with images used as evidence.
