Arvind Kejriwal accuses BJP of ‘attacking’ him

The ‘padyatra’ or foot march in Vikaspuri was part of a series of public rallies across Delhi by AAP leaders ahead of assembly elections likely to be held in February 2025.

Meanwhile, other AAP senior leaders sharpened their attack on the BJP, alleging a “deep-rooted conspiracy” to eliminate Kejriwal, and warned that the saffron party would be held responsible if anything happened to the former chief minister.

Addressing a press conference, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said, “The complicity of the police in the incident (in Vikaspuri) clearly shows a deep-rooted conspiracy to kill Kejriwal. The BJP has become the enemy of his life.”

However, the AAP leader said that despite the Vikaspuri incident, Kejriwal will continue to perform ‘padyatra’ as per schedule.

When asked why AAP did not file a complaint regarding the alleged attack on Kejriwal, Singh said the incident would not have happened if the police had been impartial.

Police officers did nothing to stop the “attackers” belonging to the youth wing of the BJP, he claimed, adding that AAP had sought legal opinion on the matter.

Singh added that the police may notice the incident and launch an investigation.

The BJP rejected AAP’s allegations, saying this was yet another “victim card” played by the ruling party to malign the BJP ahead of the assembly elections.

“Despite blaming the BJP, no complaint has been filed by the AAP regarding the alleged attack on Kejriwal, which shows that the party is trying to play the victim card and gain sympathy by trying to defame the BJP ahead of the Assembly elections,” Vijender said. he said. Gupta, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly.

No video of the alleged attack has emerged or been made public by AAP.
