Suriya’s Kanguva starrer urges him to join politics, scolds Vijay

The Kanguva audio launch on October 26 sparked emotions following actor-director Bose Venkat’s comments about stars joining politics. In his speech at the event, Venkat asked Suriya to enter politics and dealt a blow to Vijay. Venkat, who recently directed Sir, shared: “Just like Suriya does with his beloved fans, a superstar must lead his fans.”

What started as a quiet reflection of Suriya’s connection with his fans quickly turned intriguing. Bose Venkat stated: “Lead your admirers to righteousness. Encourage them to be helpful, respect others, live fulfilling lives, and provide them with the education and wisdom to know right from wrong. Only then should we consider entering politics.”

Notably, his statement came a day before the inaugural mass rally of actor-politician Vijay’s party Tamika’s Vettri Kazhagam.

Bose Venkat tried to soften the reactions by stating that leaders can come from any background. However, he quickly returned to referencing Vijay in his speech, asserting: “A leader cannot be born by treating your fans like fools. Educate them and encourage them to work. Suriya sir, you should consider entering politics.”

A section of fans were unhappy with Venkat’s speech, especially as the much-awaited first meeting of Vijay’s party approaches.

Directed by Shiva Kanguva is produced by Studio Green and UV Creations. Cinematographer Vetri Palanisamy, editor Nishadh Yusuf and composer Devi Sri Prasad are part of the technical team.

Kanguva releases on October 31 on the occasion of Diwali.
