Lycoming County man wanted found hiding in bed in Union County

Oct. 25 – LEWISBURG – A Williamsport man wanted in Lycoming County was found in a bed under blankets at a vacant home in Union Township, according to state police in Milton.

Hunter Michael Good, 25, of Race Street, Williamsport, was charged with two felonies, theft and trespassing; and misdemeanor resisting arrest. The charges were filed in District Judge Jeffrey Rowe’s Lewisburg office by state Trooper Tyler Arbogast from the Milton State Police Barracks.

Buffalo Valley Regional Police Patrolman Zachary Mosso pulled over a vehicle with Good as a passenger on Oct. 8 on West Branch Highway in East Buffalo Township. Good, who had multiple active arrest warrants out of Lycoming County, fled the vehicle and Mosso successfully chased him.

Arbogast reported that at 9:40 a.m. on Oct. 9, he received information that Good had been seen in the Park Road area of Winfield. He was riding a good, dark colored bicycle.

Good was not immediately located, but Good’s mother notified police of her son’s whereabouts. All four corners of the residence Good was in were surrounded. The Buffalo Valley Regional Police Department and the Union County Sheriff’s Office have been requested as backup, police said.

The homeowner was contacted and he consented to a search of the entire residence and property. Police said the homeowner knew Good through a mutual friend, but said he had no reason to come to Good’s home and was not invited.

After unsuccessful attempts to get Good to leave the house, police entered the residence to begin searching for Good at 1 p.m. He said Good was not on the occupied side of the house, so police began searching the unoccupied side.

Good was found lying in a bed on the second floor, under several blankets and covers. Police said Good placed his right hand inside the comforter along his side.

“Fearing that Good was reaching for something, I got on top of Good and attempted to gain control of his arms while Trooper (Howard) Young attempted to gain control of his legs,” Arbogast said. “Good began to actively resist and refused to comply with our commands. Good refused to roll over onto his stomach and place his hands behind his back. Two open hand strikes were delivered in an attempt to obtain compliance, resulting in adverse consequences.”

Police said Good continued to resist and “significant force was required to overcome his resistance.”

Police said Young used a stun gun to stun Good, but the suspect continued to resist.

Police used the Taser a second time, gaining control of Good’s arms and lower body. Good was later handcuffed, police said.

Police reported the bike was stolen from Bucknell University. Police said Good claimed he was too drunk to remember the events of the previous two days.

Good also faces five misdemeanor charges, including evading arrest, fleeing to avoid capture, unsworn forgery to authorities, receiving stolen property and providing false identification to law enforcement; and three summary offenses.
