Tamil Nadu: 2 arrested for issuing fake certificates to US visa candidates in Chennai

Chennai Police arrested two persons for allegedly producing fake educational documents while applying for a US Visa.

The police action followed a complaint by an Overseas Criminal Investigator on behalf of the US consulate on October 22.

According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Ajay Bhandaria, applied for a work visa showing his hotel management diploma issued by Gandhi Institute of Technical and Management and his work experience certificate from Mariott Hotel and Convention Centre. fake.

During his meeting with US consulate officials, Bhandaria also admitted to obtaining false documents and work experience. He also informed the authorities that an amount of five lakh rupees was paid to purchase the documents from a company called Dream for Overseas Private Limited, based in Hyderabad.

On receiving a complaint from the US consulate in the matter, the Chennai Police team registered a case under relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and Dream for Overseas Consultancy chairman Balayandeswara Rao and another person identified as Kopse Mahesh. , was arrested in Hyderabad.

The investigation team found that Rs five lakh was charged for providing fake experience and education certificates. Police said Mahesh also gave fake course completion certificates from Sybil Technologies, a Skill Development Institution run by him.

Police also seized 90 fake certificates and fake seals from Mahesh’s custody.
