Chicago police warned of possible armed robberies in Irving Park where the suspect posed as an ATM repairman or security guard.

CHICAGO (Wales) — Chicago police are warning people about a suspect who is stealing money from people trying to use ATMs.

The incident took place in five different parts of the city since October 1.

The latest incident happened Tuesday in West Ridge.

Police said the suspect told the victims he was a security guard or was there to fix the ATM.

He then forced the victim to leave and withdrew money from his account.

Police said the suspect may have been armed.

He is described as a male between 20 and 40 years old, 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and weighing between 200 and 220 pounds.

The events took place at:

– Oct. 1 at 12:55 p.m., 3200 block of West Addison Street in Avondale.
– 4800 block of North Pulaski Road in North Mayfair at 11:00 a.m. on October 13
– On November 7, 2024 at 3:00 pm, 6300 block of North McCormick Road in North Park.
– At 6:21 p.m., Nov. 11, 3200 block of West Irving Park Road in Irving Park.
– At 5:15 p.m., Nov. 11, 3200 block of West Irving Park Road in Irving Park.
– 6100 block of North Western Avenue in West Ridge, at 12:55 p.m., Nov. 12.
