How to care for your real Christmas tree

HERE’S what you need to know if you’re buying a real Christmas tree:

First thing’s first: buy a flower pot (if it’s not already there).

You need to treat your tree just like a houseplant, giving it water and attention.

Make sure the container has good drainage; It’s a good idea to put something under it to catch any excess water.

Check the soil daily to make sure it is not drying out.

If it feels dry, give it some water. If it still feels damp, leave it alone, as too much water can also kill a tree.

Also make sure it’s not too hot for the LED bulbs in your tree lights to burn, and keep your tree away from radiators.

Once Christmas is over, try planting it in the garden so you can dig it up and use it again next year.

It’s a good idea to remove it from its pot when you replant, though, as large trees don’t survive well in pots because their roots need room to grow.

But among the 1.5 million viewers there were also many who thanked the expert for airing the clip, especially with Christmas just a few weeks away.

”Why didn’t I ever think of this? You’re a genius!’ someone shouted.

”God have mercy…in all my years I never thought of doing this!!!” Thank you!!!” someone else wrote.

”This has been beautiful for years and I think it looks much better; “Sometimes people let the decorations hit the branches below the branch they’re hanging on and it doesn’t look that good,” agreed fellow Christmas fan Dylan.
