The Army and Rapid Response Battalion (RAB) carried out a joint operation yesterday (October 26) and detained 45 people in connection with robbery and extortion in the Mohammadpur area of ​​the capital.

According to the statement of law enforcement officials, two people were detained for the robbery at a mini super store, three people were detained for extortion, while 40 other people were detained as suspects.

They were later handed over to the police.

According to local people, incidents of extortion and robbery have increased in Muhammadpur in the last few days.

On October 25, a robbery took place at a superstore in Basila area of ​​Muhammadpur. The super store’s CCTV camera showed that the robbers were armed with sharp weapons. The robbers also attacked a nearby mobile banking store and looted the money.

In yesterday’s joint operation, the main suspect of the robbery, Md Aslam aka Rubel aka Alam (32), was detained.
